Your First Project#

Creating a project in Materials Commons is straightforward. There are two easy ways to get started:

Using the Welcome Screen#

When you log in to Materials Commons and have no existing projects, you’ll see a “Welcome Aboard!” modal window. Simply click the “CREATE PROJECT” button to begin the guided project creation process.

From the Dashboard#

Alternatively, you can create a project at any time:

  1. Navigate to the dashboard

  2. Look for the “CREATE PROJECT” button at the top of the page

  3. Click the button to start creating your new project

Note

You can create multiple projects to organize different research initiatives.

Tip

Choose a descriptive project name that clearly identifies your research work. You can always update the project details, including the name, later.
